It’s 5:25am on Thanksgiving morning and I’ve decided to start my day by posting some thoughts about how truly grateful I am for the life I’ve been given.
Four years ago (like most of America) the financial bottom fell out from beneath me and my journey took a sharp turn back to the east coast and I landed back in Miami to, well, start over, begin a new chapter if you will.
What I’ve experienced over the past four years of being in the desert (starting over) is that I can live with nothing, I can get by when hope seems non-existent.
So what’s the stronghold? Where does this shelter in the storm come from?
The answer is simple. It comes from above.
My unchanging, non-negotiable, grounded faith in a living God that has scripted my entire life and has designed me for greatness, that’s where it comes from.
What I find interesting is that in the quiet time of patiently waiting for God, having absolutely no clue what’s next, I see that that is where He is moving the most, yet it takes a grateful, patient and encouraged heart to sit and listen for that still small voice.
Oh did I mention Friends and Family are an absolute must when the storms of life start to cripple you? They are the ones that pick you up, dust you off and get you back on the track you’re suppose to be on. For that in itself, is one of life’s biggest and most incredible blessings.
So if you asked me today, “Sebastian, what are you thankful for?” - The answer would be simple, I’m thankful for my faith which carries me and my friends and family that love, care and show me who I really am.
I wish each and every one of you a safe and blessed Thanksgiving.
If you’re reading this that means you’re who I’ve been talking about above. Thanks again for just being you, I appreciate you more than you know.
